This fall, we are offering a mini seminar series called Hot Topics in IP and Technology. We’ve invited industry experts to come and talk about the latest in Intellectual Property (IP) topics and emerging technology and the implications for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
For November’s seminar, we’ve invited Tonya Evans, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Professor of Law at the UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law to share her extensive expertise on the topic of blockchain and IP. Tonya directs UNH Law’s Blockchain, Cryptocurrency & Law online professional certificate program. She speaks and consults regularly in the US and abroad about the legal implications of new technologies like blockchain and innovation for startups, entrepreneurs, and creatives.
The last decade has seen blockchain technology grow from a financial experiment to a revolutionary technology that has the potential to fundamentally change many industries. In this seminar, Tonya will discuss the basics of blockchain and how it relates to IP. She will also share her thoughts on how blockchain technology might be an important tool for transforming scholarly communication and research.
